{"id":152,"date":"2008-07-04T12:00:56","date_gmt":"2008-07-04T17:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kasdorf.name\/wordpress\/2008\/firecracker-5k\/"},"modified":"2022-05-03T20:01:26","modified_gmt":"2022-05-04T01:01:26","slug":"firecracker-5k","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kasdorf.name\/wordpress\/2008\/07\/04\/firecracker-5k\/","title":{"rendered":"Firecracker 5K!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Just completed another 5K in downtown Ann Arbor.\u00a0 This one was sponsored by &#8220;the other running store&#8221; in town, the &#8220;Tortoise and Hare&#8221; and the course was close to, but in a different direction from the other 5K course, of course.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kasdorf.name\/GSlideShows\/4th_July_5K_08\/index.html\" title=\"A Tortoise and Hare 2008 Photo Album\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Toe-Jammer Running Team photographers were out in force to capture some pre-race activities as well as racing action shots! <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The logo&#8230; with the tortoise ahead of the hare&#8230; naturally. The previous 5K was the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kasdorf.name\/wordpress\/2008\/shamrocks-5k-conclusion\/\" title=\"Shamrocks and Shenannigans 5K.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shamrocks and Shenanigans<\/a>&#8221; in March.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kasdorf.name\/Running\/4th%20July%205K%202008\/4th%20July%20T%20Shirt%20Design_800.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox\" title=\"The official Tortise and Hare 4th of July 5K in Ann Arbor!\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kasdorf.name\/Running\/4th%20July%205K%202008\/4th%20July%20T%20Shirt%20Design3x3.jpg\" alt=\"The official Road Ends participant T-Shirt art work.\" width=\"300\" height=\"227\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kasdorf.name\/Running\/4th%20July%205K%202008\/4th%20July%202008%205K%20Ann%20Arbor%20015b.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox\" title=\"The ToeJammer team making it through mile 1!\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kasdorf.name\/running\/4th%20July%205K%202008\/4_July_5K_08_number300.jpg\" alt=\"The official 4th of July 5K bib number.\" width=\"300\" height=\"297\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kasdorf.name\/Running\/4th%20July%205K%202008\/4th%20July%20T%20Shirt%20Design.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox\" title=\"The official results of the Tortoise and Hare 4th of July 5K in Ann Arbor!\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some stats for the race:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>a) 5K, or 3.1 miles.<\/p>\n<p>b) ran at a 9:02 pace (28:02 total time.) Compared with March 16th pace of 10:28 (32:34 total time) of just 3.5 months ago.<\/p>\n<p>c) finished 412 out of 690 overall, so finished in the top 60% of all runners.<\/p>\n<p>d) finished 259 out of 353 of all males or 73%&#8230; guess this means a lot of fast men and slow women&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>e) finished 13 out of 23 in my age group.
