New information on Christian Klopfenstein

Hi George,
I was forwarded your email from Loren Dahling regarding Christ Klopfenstein. In your records you have Christ married to Lena Petrich and also married to Cora Pouden.

This is not correct. Christ Klopfenstein b. 12 Sep 1848 was first married to Sophia Ruch in Germany (Alsace Lorraine). They had 4 sons:
1. Christian b. Feb 1873 in Alsace (He married Cora Pouden)
2. Michael b. 25 Dec 1875 in Alsace
3. Phillip Klopfenstein b. Jan 1878 Germany
4. William b. 17 Mar 1886 in Indiana

When his first wife died in 1892, he married Adelina (Lena) Petrich in 1892. They had one daughter, Clara. Lena died in 1895.

Christ married Marie Has in 1896.

Are you related to this family?

Jannis Frederick

That is right , the brother of my grandfather , his name was Otto, came before to Uruguay and he found a milk factory with the brand Kasdorf , it came very big. So the building your history book probably was this.
When he came to Montevideo, my grandfather worked with him and after some years he came to Bs As and founded a subsidiary of Kasdorf in Argentina. This was in 1915 and it belongs to my family since 1985 . If you find your book ,you will see that, I think the building is still there and belongs to Conaprole which is the biggest brand of milk products in Uruguay.
The other Kasdorf’s I know , are living in Argentina and in Uruguay , all of my ancestros I told you before.

Regards
Alfredo

Thank You for your response. My ancestors came from Germany way way back, however, I don’t remember seeing any of the names that you have given me, in my geneology. One interesting thing tho. When I was in I think Junior High School back in the late 50’s , we used a history book which had a picture of a hotel or some other building in Montivideo, Uruguay. It was (If my memory serves me well) a very tall building something like a skyscraper. On the front above the entrance was the name “Kasdorf” If I look real hard, I may still have that history book. Do you know anything about that?

Boyfriend of Long Island slaying victim arrested in Ohio
NEW YORK (AP) – The boyfriend of a woman found slain in the exclusive north shore Long Island neighborhood of Sands Point was arrested in northeast Ohio on a drunken driving warrant, police announced Saturday. Edgar Sanchez, 34, of Mastic Beach, was arrested Friday on an outstanding warrant from a DWI arrest in Suffolk County, N.Y., said officer Carolyn Kasdorf, a spokeswoman for the Nassau County police. Sanchez, who failed to appear for a court hearing Wednesday on the DWI case, is considered ‘a person of interest’ in the death of 24-year-old Elisabeth Parisi, Kasdorf said. Parisi’s body was found Oct. 15 by a passer-by in the village of Sands Point. Sanchez was arrested in Geneva, Ohio, 44 miles east of Cleveland. Police there declined to give details of the arrest.  The victim’s car, a 1995 Oldsmobile, was found early Saturday morning in the village of Highland Hills, Ohio, outside Cleveland.
