I just did a quick Google to see the vintage of the Dell XPS R450 that George Sr. has been running. In dog years it would be 9×7 = 63!
In computer electronic’s years it is about 732 years old . . .
In computer electronic’s years it is about 732 years old . . .anyway for a recent birthday present he received a new system. We just spent the day taking down the old one, switching a few parts and setting up the new one. Things went pretty well, thanks to Paul for pre-configuring 90% of the software prior to the final switch over! In about six hours, with time out for tasty sandwiches (thanks Adda!) we got the job done . . . even with the necessary attention paid to Jake in between the chairs.
Hopefully Dad is good computer wise for a couple more years. Naturally one project leads to another so the old Dell will replace and even older HP to run some ham radio software like PSK32 that he uses quit a bit. That is a project for another weekend though.
