Boyfriend of Long Island slaying victim arrested in Ohio
NEW YORK (AP) – The boyfriend of a woman found slain in the exclusive north shore Long Island neighborhood of Sands Point was arrested in northeast Ohio on a drunken driving warrant, police announced Saturday. Edgar Sanchez, 34, of Mastic Beach, was arrested Friday on an outstanding warrant from a DWI arrest in Suffolk County, N.Y., said officer Carolyn Kasdorf, a spokeswoman for the Nassau County police. Sanchez, who failed to appear for a court hearing Wednesday on the DWI case, is considered ‘a person of interest’ in the death of 24-year-old Elisabeth Parisi, Kasdorf said. Parisi’s body was found Oct. 15 by a passer-by in the village of Sands Point. Sanchez was arrested in Geneva, Ohio, 44 miles east of Cleveland. Police there declined to give details of the arrest. The victim’s car, a 1995 Oldsmobile, was found early Saturday morning in the village of Highland Hills, Ohio, outside Cleveland.
